I received my plane ticket yesterday. It's with Northwest Airlines, and the specific flight schedule is as follows:
Depart Shanghai: 08/16 at 10:25 a.m.
Depart Los Angeles: 08/16 at 11:40 a.m.
Depart Minneapolis: 08/16 at 6:10 p.m.
Arrive Austin: 08/16 at 9:10 p.m.
That means I'll have two layovers and still arrive in Austin at 9:10 that same evening, on August 16. I already emailed an old classmate in Austin to see if he can pick me up at the airport.
The ticket cost 6,900 yuan.
1 Booking the same ticket directly through the airline would have been much more expensive, running about 8,900 yuan. I'm not entirely sure why the travel agency was able to offer such a low price. They told me to call Northwest Airlines in Shanghai the week before my departure to confirm everything, and I've already written down the phone number.
I've also booked my train ticket for July 10th. If everything goes as planned, I should be home on the 11th and will get to spend a whole month with you.
