I'm Coming Home

Dear Dad and Mom, I got my plane ticket yesterday; the price was 6,900 yuan. It’s with Northwest Airlines, and the specific flight schedule is as follows: Depart Shanghai: 8/16 at 10:25 AM Depart Los Angeles: 8/16 at 11:40 AM Depart Minneapolis: 8/16 at 6:10 PM Arrive Austin: 8/16 at 9:10 PM This means I’ll have two layovers, arriving in Austin at 9:10 PM on that same day, August 16th. I already sent an email to my old classmate in Austin, hoping he can come to the airport to pick me up. Booking the ticket directly through the airline would have been much more expensive, running about 8,900 yuan. I’m not entirely sure why the travel agency is so much cheaper. They told me to call Northwest Airlines in Shanghai the week before I leave to confirm everything, and I’ve already written down the phone number. I also booked my train ticket for July 10th. If everything goes smoothly, I should be home on the 11th and will get to stay with you guys for a whole month. Tonight was our graduation dinner; the department rented out a cafeteria for it. I didn't drink a single drop of alcohol. Alright, that's all for now! Take care! Tong 07/04/95
